Marketwise Trading & Consulting was established by Gary Norden in Dunsborough, Western Australia.

Gary has enjoyed an extensive and successful trading career in London, working both for large Investment Banks and with his own capital as a ‘local’ on the London International Financial Futures Exchange (LIFFE).

Aged 18, having deferred his University place, Gary was the youngest trader on the dealing floor of Yamaichi International (Europe) Ltd trading a multi-million dollar Japanese Warrant Book.

By the age of 22 he was trading options for himself on LIFFE before being asked by Natwest Markets (now RBoS) to run their LIFFE options trading. Having successfully established Natwest as one of the top options firms on LIFFE Gary was asked by Credit Lyonnais Rouse to set up and run an options trading desk.

Between 2000 and 2002 Gary traded Convertible Bonds for ING Barings (now ING Financial Markets) before deciding to take his young family to Western Australia.

Gary also taught graduate trainees and junior traders at most of the Investment Banks that he worked at and has worked as a Consultant to other Investment Banks and trading software firms.

Gary strongly believes that much of the education currently on offer is of little value to traders which is why he established the teaching side to his business. He is a regular contributor to Your Trading Edge magazine www.yte.com.au and has also written for ‘Stocks and Commodities’ magazine www.traders.com and www.trade2win.com. His views and knowledge of Behavioural Finance and the limitations and misuse of Technical Analysis are particularly sought after.
