Director Gary Norden has enjoyed an extensive and successful trading career, primarily in London. He has traded for Investment Banks and with is own capital as an options market maker on the floor of the London International Financial Futures Exchange (LIFFE).

Aged just 18 he was the youngest ever trader for Yamaichi International, at the time the 4th largest Investment Bank in the World. Gary traded a multi-million dollar Equity Warrant book and soon established himself as the most profitable trader in the department.

By the age of 22 he was an options market maker on LIFFE, trading interest rate options. Just over a year later, he was asked by NatWest Markets to run their LIFFE options trading team. Under his leadership Natwest moved from 36th to the top 3 in terms of options trading volume on LIFFE and his desk dominated the short term interest rate markets on LIFFE.

Towards the end of the 1990s, Gary traded futures with his own capital as the futures markets became automated. He successfully used flow trading techniques that he now teaches to clients who wish to day trade for a living.

Between 2000 and 2002 Gary traded Convertible Bonds for ING Financial Markets. The Japanese proprietary book that he traded was one of the largest in the world with almost AU$1 billion of derivatives.

Gary also taught junior traders at the Investment Banks that he worked at and has consulted to other Investment Banks and trading software firms.

In 2003 Gary moved to Western Australia and established Marketwise Trading & Consulting. He has become a popular contributor to many trading publications and websites all over the World including YourTradingEdge magazine; Active Trader; Futures and Options Trader; and Trade2Win.

Gary has also delivered seminars and education for organisations including the Australian Securities Exchange (ASX), the Australian Shareholders Association and The Thailand Futures Exchange.

Gary is passionate about trading and the financial markets in
general but his experience has taught him that hard work and diligence are crucial to long term success.

He enjoys teaching and is driven by his desire to see others become as passionate about the markets as he is as well as seeing his clients become more confident and successful in their trading and investing.
